Landscape Median Maintenance
The Parks Unit is responsible for all landscape in City medians and areas assigned, which include: South Campus Drive, underpasses, North Pomona Metrolink Station, Regional Transit Center, Humane Way overpass, Thomas Street Plaza, medians on North White, Temple, North & South Garey Avenues, the Second Street Mall, and various Police Department Facilities. These services are performed by a Contractor and administered by City Staff

Park and Landscape Maintenance
The Parks Unit is responsible for the landscape maintenance of all City parks, Phillips Ranch Assessment District, Civic Center Plaza, historical sites, and City dog parks. The Park Unit performs repair, maintenance and installation of irrigation systems, backflow prevention checks and repairs at City parks and designated sites, daily morning maintenance of park restrooms and picnic facilities, park parking lots, tennis and basketball courts, skate parks, and other developed areas.
Street Tree Maintenance
The Street Tree Maintenance Unit is responsible for the structural appearance and maintenance of approximately 37,000 public trees located within the public rights-of-way, parks and on other City-owned properties. Systematic trimming of City trees is performed using a grid system where the City’s tree inventory is divided up by sections geographically, with a goal of trimming each tree once every 4-5 years, funds allowing. Additional responsibilities include removal of city maintained dead, diseased and hazardous trees, and planting of new trees. Staff oversees an outside contractor who performs major grid trimming and other tree services.
Facilities Maintenance & Repair
The Facility Maintenance Unit is responsible for the structural and physical maintenance of all designated City-owned facilities, which include City Hall, Library, Community Centers, City park facilities/equipment/lighting, City pools, Regional Transit Center, North Pomona Metrolink, and the Water Yards Complex.
Facilities maintenance encompasses all aspects of custodial services, repair, alteration, replacement and improvement at the City facilities listed above, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, flooring, etc., City park play grounds, drinking fountains, walk way lighting, sport court lighting, security lighting, and fencing.
This program is also responsible for overseeing major office and building renovations, and assisting outside contractors (telephone, computer, data, etc.).
