Housing Services Division
Pomona offers an array of housing opportunities for people of all ages. From custom-built homes on quiet, tree-lined streets to mansions of historical significance, from rental property to home ownership, the City of Pomona strives to meet the housing needs of its residents. The Housing Stabilization Division is dedicated to providing comprehensive housing stabilization services to support Pomona households in finding and maintaining stable housing within their chosen communities. Our aim is to facilitate a smooth transition into housing, enhance long-term housing stability, and prevent future episodes of homelessness. The following services and programs may be found under the Housing Stabilization Division:
The Section-8 Rental Assistance Program is a Federally funded program established by the 1974 Housing And Community Development Act to assist very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to select eligible housing, including apartments, townhouses and single-family homes.
