The City's storm drain system was designed to prevent flooding by carrying excess rainwater away from City streets out to the San Gabriel and Santa Ana Rivers, and finally out to the ocean. Stormwater pollution increases the risk of inland urban flooding by clogging catch basins. The success of the City's storm drain system is heavily dependent on the cleaning of catch basins and the repair/replacement of catch basin covers and grates. The below ArcGIS Dashboard is showing catch basin cleanings that were completed by staff from April 2020 - August 2022. Please check back often as the system is updated consistently with Catch Basin Cleaning data.
