The Pomona Police Department Traffic Services Bureau consists of Motorcycle Officers and Parking Enforcement Officers. Motor Officers are responsible for providing a safe flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic within the City, traffic accident investigation, and reducing traffic collisions through education and enforcement. Parking Enforcement monitors parking problems within the City and enforces street sweeping. The Traffic Services Bureau is regularly utilized to assist Patrol, handle traffic control at large special events at the Fairplex, and/or participate in parades and other community events.
Fatal accident investigation is also a primary function of Motor Officers. Motor Officers receive extensive advanced training in collision investigation and reconstruction to handle the most serious injury and fatal collisions. Motor Officers are on call 24-hours a day to respond to these complex investigations. They conduct necessary follow-up and work with the District Attorney’s Office to file charges as necessary.
The Pomona Police Department is committed to traffic safety. We collaborate with the California Office of Traffic Safety through grants to work to reduce injuries and deaths on the road. This funding allows us to educate and enhance the safety of all residents. These grants fund a variety of traffic safety programs like DUI patrols and community education presentations.
