The City of Pomona contracts with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) for medical insurance. CalPERS currently offers eleven (11) health plans for our eligible employees, eight (8) Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans and three (3) Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans. The City contributes up to seven hundred dollars ($700) per month towards medical insurance for all regular full-time employees.
Married City Employees: If you and your spouse are both City of Pomona employees, you may combine your medical insurance contributions to pay for the cost of medical insurance that exceeds the contribution the City makes on your behalf.

Deductions for health insurance premiums are taken from your pay check on a pre-tax basis.
